Psalm 46:1-11 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, thought the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Se'lah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Se'lah. Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Se'lah.
In verse 10 it says “Be still, and know that I am God:” and that says it all. But so often we do not listen to God when He tells us to be still when we are going through trails and sufferings. We try to handle it our way and I believe that is when so many of us fail. In verse one of our text the Bible tells us that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Notice that word "present"! I believe it means that He is always there whenever we need Him. He promised us in Hebrew 13:5 "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."
What do you do when things are not going the way you expect? Do you panic? or do you “Be Still”? Let us call upon God for help during our trials and sufferings because He is the only one who can help us and deliver us. 1Peter 3:12 says "FOR THE EYES FOR THE LORD ARE OVER THE RIGHTEOUS, AND HIS EARS ARE OPEN UNTO THEIR PRAYERS:" God knows and sees everything we go through in live and He wants us to call Him for help. Jeremiah 33:3 says "Call unto me, and I will answer thee , and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not."
How can we fear when we know that Jesus is near and that He control everything and He is with us each night and each day? Let us be still and know that He is God and that He will take good care of us if we do what He wants us to do.

In Christ,

Pastor Anter
