Job 2:1-10 ¶ Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.
And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.
But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.
And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.
So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.
And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes.
Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.
But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips

Integrity according to Mr. Webster means moral & ethical principle, a moral character & honesty. It is therefore important to maintain our moral values and show our excellent testimony in any situation we are experiencing. Job is a very good example of integrity. He did not sin nor lose his morality despite the things that happened in his life. What was his secret? Let us take a glimpse at his life and learn from it.

First, he maintained a consistent relationship with God. He did not allow his trials and sufferings to stop him from serving God. Though his wife and friends advised him to stop serving his creator, he did not listen to them. He stood upon his convictions and showed them the truth about God. He knew that God would never forsake him. He pondered God’s promises in his heart. Romans 8:35-37 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine or nakedness or peril or sword? As it is written, for thy sake we are killed all the day long: we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay in all these things, we are more than conquerors through his that loved us.” Indeed, we are more than conquerors in Christ, so let us strive to keep a good testimony by trusting God and maintaining our relationship with Him.

Second, He maintained his integrity in the midst of trials because he believed in the power of God. He experienced God’s goodness all throughout his life and he knew that in his circumstances, God is too wise to make mistakes and too good to be unjust. He knew that God is in control of his situation. Job 31:18 “For from my youth he was brought up with me, as with a father, and I guided her from my mother’s womb.” He trusted that God had better things for him and because of his faith: God blessed him more than he could ever imagine. Job 42: 7-17.

My brethren, nothing is impossible with God, there is nothing too hard for him. Job is also human like us and if he was able to overcome his trials with a clean heart and conscience; I am sure that by God’s grace we can do it to, we just need to remain in his Word and allow his Spirit to direct and control our lives.
