Doctrinal Studies - Theology Week 7

Pastor Wayne Surface - Apr 28, 2010 04:00 PM - Theology
In this week's continuation of "How to know the will of God" we learn that everything is in God's hands and that if God is for us, no one can be against us; He is Lord of our life - Romans 8:31. The bible is very clear that there is no chance with God. He is in control of every "role of the dice." God works within His laws and He controls His laws; everything happens because He allows it to. Ephesians 1:11 - there is nothing that happens in our life that is not in His will, we are predestined according to His purpose. The will of God is Preventive, Permissive, Directive, and Determinant. He gave us free will and we must use our free will to please Him. We must seek His will and strive to do that which pleases Him.

Stand Firmly in Christ

Guest Speaker - Apr 28, 2010 03:30 PM - Sermons
Our guest speaker Jeff Greeson explains that we must stand for Christ. Children come with an instructions manual; the Bible. Teach them to live according to the Bible. Proverbs 27:17 - People are sharpened by each other in Church. When men and women come together in fellowship they grow stronger in Christ. We must stand firmly in Christ; we must stand for the lost sinners. Seek to grow strong in Christ and reach out to those that need Christ. We must not stand in our pride and selfishness. Put on the whole armor of God and resist evil; be the light that God calls us to be and shine in this world of darkness.

Where is Your Pacifier?

Pastor Wayne Surface - Apr 25, 2010 03:30 PM - Sermons
James 1:2, Matthew 5:9, Psalm 107:23-31, Mark 4:37-41 Sometimes we need a pacemaker so our hearts can be at peace. Have we ever wondered if God really cares, why we have the storms in our lives? God does not promise to take the storms away, He does promise to take us to the other side though. We forget that so easily. How easily we forget how God has taken care of us in the past through other storms. The problem is, Jesus see's us, but do we see Him? Sometimes we need to take the responsibility to just abide.

Out of the Salt Shaker

Pastor Wayne Surface - Apr 25, 2010 07:30 AM - Sermons
Matthew 5:1-16, Job 6:6-7, Luke 14:34-35, Psalm 63:1 As the salt of the earth we should be seasoning and enjoying the spice of life. We should also create a thirst for God in others. We are to be a preservative in the world around us. Salt in the Bible was a symbol of purity. Salt to be good must be spread out.
