Endure and Forgive

Guest Speaker - Jun 23, 2010 03:45 PM - Sermons
What would Jesus do? What did Jesus do? Jesus was tempted in all points of life, yet He did not fall once to sin. Isaiah 53:9; Jesus had done no sin, neither was any deceit in His mouth. We need to be like Jesus and restrain from the temptations of our lives. Seek His face always and pray for His strength and wholesome armour. Be Holy for God is Holy. Learn to forgive and forget the sins that have been committed against you. Ishmael was born out of Abraham's sin. In Genesis 22:2 God says, Take now thy son, thine ONLY SON Isaac, whom thou lovest. Amazing! God forgave Abraham for the sin he committed. How loving and forgiving is our God that He would forgive and forget our sins like that! Praise the Lord. Walk uprightly, resist temptation, and forgive! In Jesus' name do these things, Amen.

Two Lives in Sin

Pastor Wayne Surface - Jun 20, 2010 03:15 PM - Sermons
Comparing the lives of Saul and David. One was forgiven the other wasn't. Why? When they sinned how did they react. Saul blamed others while David took ownership of his sin. Saul's punishment was that he was rejected from being king. (I Sam 15:22-23) David had his wives taken away from him in public. (II Sam 12:10-12) Saul responded by begged for forgiveness, but because he feared the people, not the Lord. He was sorry he got caught. (I Sam 15:30) David admitted his sins. (II Sam 12:20-23) The result; Saul lost the spirit of God. (I Sam 16:14) David lost the joy of the Lord, (Psalm 51:19) but he was still used by God.

Doctrinal Studies: Pneumatology - Week 1

Pastor Wayne Surface - Jun 16, 2010 08:20 PM - Pneumatology
The Lord is a Person, a self-existing entity; mighty and powerful. Not only does God have intellect and will, He has emotions; Ephesians 4:30. He can be grieved and angered. He is Omniscient, Omnipresent, and Omnipotent; He knows all things, He is in all places, and He has unlimited power. There are many Representations or Symbols of the Lord. Clothing (Eph. 6:11), Dove (3:16), Fire (Acts 2:3), Seal II Cor. 1:22), Servant (Gen. 24). The Lord is many things and we can depend on Him to bless us in many aspects of our lives.
