Why do we swear? There are several reasons as to why one will blurt out a derogatory or curse word. It may be a way of letting off steam, a lack of vocabulary, or just to impress people. Some will say "Gosh!" or "Jeez." These words are used to cover up the true intent of the heart, which is to say, "God!" or "Jesus Christ", using the Lord's name in vein. When you swear, it is not a mouth problem but a heart problem. There are ways to control and stop swearing. Replace it with creative speech and prayers, Psalms 19:14.
